This is a WebSDR receiver, located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It is operated by Gerolf Ziegenhain DG6FL, g.ziegenhain.com. This websdr is powered by USB soundcards with 96kHz and an internal Intel Soundcard with 48kHz. Power comes directly from the powersupply of the pc. This results in noise, which is symmetric around the center frequency. Obviously the FA sdr kit is much more sensitive to noise in the powersupply.

More information about the WebSDR project can be found on http://www.websdr.org. Note: you need both Java and JavaScript enabled for this page to work properly. If you don't hear anything, probably Java is disabled or its version is too old (i.e., pre-1.4.2).
